We met the very modern way, on Twitter. As big Chicago Bulls fans, we followed each other, chatted here and there, and thought nothing of it. Just two timelines crossing and a lot of basketball opinions. A little later, life did its thing. I headed off to Illinois State, where he conveniently visited friends pretty often. Those casual online conversations slowly turned into real ones, and before we knew it, something was definitely there. On January 23, 2016, my 19th birthday, we officially started dating. After a very romantic dinner at La Bamba (iykyk, broke college kids, obviously), he asked me to be his girlfriend on my dorm bed. No candles, no grand gestures, just vibes. Not exactly a fairytale setting, but somehow it was perfect. Since then, we have grown up together. We have gone on new adventures, traveled to new places, tried way too much good food, and built a life full of love, laughter, and support. Through every stage, every change, and every version of ourselves, we have always chosen each other, and we cannot wait to celebrate that with you.
