Megan began her new job at San Diego Christian College on August 20, 2018 and was introduced to Mitchell in the admissions office that same day. At first, Mitchell ignored Megan as "just another temp receptionist" but soon came to realize how much they had in common. Mitchell was getting in trouble for always being at the front desk distracting Megan and sneakily got her number from the school information system and texted her to continue their conversations. They soon found themselves talking all the time about TV shows, childhood stories, and future dreams, making each other their go-to friend. After a rough day at the office on October, Mitchell invited Megan on a hike after work to talk it out which then turned into him talking for 3 hours. 5 miles later, he left with no hug but with all the feels. He stayed secretly in love with her for a few months as they continued to hang out with friends and go on more hikes On a freezing cold day at the Point Loma Tide Pools, Mitchell graciously told Meg how he felt about her, heard her thoughts, and suggested that they take a week apart to think and pray and decide if this was something worth pursing. Two weeks and three page word documents later about their intentions for dating, they decided to prayerfully move forward and have their "first real date" in La Jolla. Since then, Fast forward to March 10th, 2019 where Mitchell took Megan to one of their first friendship hang out spots at Bird Rock tide pools (are you seeing a theme here?) where he got down on a knee and asked her to spend forever with him and become Megan Elise Varela. It was the most joyful and peaceful YES she's ever said! The two of us are looking forward to learning, dreaming, and creating together and celebrating God's goodness and faithful timing bringing us together with all of you!
