Hailey and Mitchell originally met when he asked for her number after a highschool football game freshman year. Except, the number was not for him, it was for his friend. Hailey turned him down and laughed with all of her friends afterward. Mitchell must've left quite the impression though because by sophomore year she decided to get his number. Hailey tried to grab his attention by following him and unfollowing him on Twitter multiple times until he finally got the message and followed her back. She ended up getting his number which let him knowing that she was interested and soon after they started dating. Mitchell knew somehow this would be something right from the beginning, but Hailey was unsure which led to a few breakups through high school. By senior year, once they were both on the same page and started to develop a stronger relationship with Jesus together, they had to face the fact that they would be going to school over 6 hours apart from each other. This was hard because by this time they were not only dating but also best friends. By the time Mitchell came to visit Hailey the first time she knew that she was sure she would marry him and he felt the same way. After many short but sweet college visits, and winter and summer breaks they (and everyone around them) realized that when they were both home, they never liked to be apart. After over six years of dating, Mitchell proposed in December of 2020, with Hailey almost sleeping through the biggest moment of her life. Luckily she was only a little late and was able to say yes to marrying her highschool sweetheart.
