Celebrate With Us!

Mitchell and I first met six years ago on a family vacation with my best friend Haley and her then-boyfriend, Braden. We barely noticed each other at the time. Years later, Haley and Braden got married, and Mitchell and I were both in the wedding party. Leading up to the wedding, people started hinting at a potential connection between us, and we casually interacted on social media. During the wedding festivities Mitchell attempted at what I later learned were his best flirting efforts. Unfortunately, his attempts flew over my head, leaving me oblivious, while he thought I was playing hard to get. But on the wedding night itself we danced and laughed and talked late into the night. Just a couple of weeks after the wedding, I asked Mitchell: “Should I buy a flight and come visit you in Florida?” His reply: “Duh.” So, I did. By the time I landed, Mitchell had thoughtfully planned the entire weekend. By the end of that trip, I knew he was something special. Despite the 900 miles between us, we decided to give long-distance a shot. Mitchell proposed between Christmas and New Year’s, pulling off the sweetest surprise by flying in our Colorado family and friends to celebrate with us in Kentucky.
