OUR STORY

After four long years of living 3,063 miles apart, we can't wait to spend forever right by each other's sides.

An Italian from New Jersey meets an Englishman from Ireland. Most of you know the story of how we met. Will was visiting a friend living in New York City in March of 2018. That friend just so happened to be Steph's roommate. He was only in town for a week, but it was long enough to leave an impression. We realized we had a lot in common at Steph's housewarming party that week. For starters, we wore the same outfit (pic in the Gallery), found out both our moms are therapists, and both signed the guest book with "xoxo, Gossip Girl". By the time Will was at the airport on his way home, Steph sent the first text. We haven't gone a single day without talking since. Many of those days were spent dating long-distance... would not recommend. Most nights we'd fall asleep on the phone together, and considering the time difference from New York to Ireland, that meant Will was up far past his bedtime. Truth be told, we spent more time staring at our phones than is probably recommended. We once did the math: in the first 3 years of our relationship, we visited each other 13 times and only spent a cumulative 197 days in the same country. During those 13 visits, we would put everything on pause just to soak up the time spent together. Steph got to hike the mountains in Ireland, and Will got to see his first Broadway musical. We developed a love for travel and introduced each other to new experiences. Steph had never seen so many goats or cows, and Will had never seen so many people in one place. After 3 (very) long years of dating long-distance, we were more than ready to live on the same continent. But during COVID, our usual 2-month breaks between visits were extended to 6 or 8-month breaks. Through some creativity, a leap of faith, and a 2-week quarantine in Mexico we finally moved in together in September of 2021. Two months later we were engaged! Going from long-distance to roommates was the easiest and happiest transition. NYC life includes frequent game nights, the Upper East Side's best restaurants, lunch walks in Central Park, and a lot less time staring at phones. We have been looking forward to this wedding for a long time, and we are so excited to celebrate with our families and all of our loved ones visiting from all over the globe. Thank you for being a part of our special day!
