In the summer of 2014, Paige was interning at Dick's Sporting Goods and Mitch was working there full-time. Paige caught Mitch's eye immediately, and after a few times of Paige catching Mitch staring at her from across the cafeteria, Mitch finally worked up enough courage to introduce himself at a Luke Bryan tailgate. Paige realized she really liked Mitch when she caught herself practicing how to use chopsticks before their first date at a sushi restaurant. Although the couple had to part ways as Paige finished her senior year, Mitch made many trips to Penn State to see her. The couple finally made it official in May of 2015, only one week after Paige graduated. They spent over three years together in Pittsburgh, until they decided to move to Denver in 2018. They have spent the last few years in Colorado snowboarding, hiking, camping, and doing all the things that they love most together!
In March of 2020, Mitch’s brother Mason and his girlfriend Kelly came to visit us for what I thought was just a ski weekend in Steamboat, CO. About halfway to our destination, Mitch suggested that we stop at Sapphire Point to show Kelly and Mason the breathtaking views of Lake Dillon. At one of the lookout points, Mitch asked if I wanted to get a photo with him, and before I knew it, he was down on one knee! We celebrated our engagement at the most beautiful location, popping champagne and FaceTiming all of our family and friends! Although we were not able to ski because the mountain shut down the next day due to COVID, it was still the best weekend of our lives!
