We are getting married!

We had the same circle of friends and we would occasionally see each other while we were out with them. We would always randomly chat but we did not start dating until around 2 years later.

Even though we had known each other for a couple years, we did not go on our first date until June 1, 2016 at Vitos in Cedar Rapids.

We bought our first puppy, Harper, Memorial Day weekend of 2017 (May 28th) and closed on our first home May 30th. It was a crazy, exciting rush of emotions to have our first puppy and home within 2 days of each other! We are still in the same home in Cedar Rapids, and Harper is a crazy, fun-loving 2 year old labradoodle :)

It was a Wednesday night. We were out to dinner with two of our friends for one of their birthday's, and on the way home, Mitch asked if I wanted to have a drink on our deck when we got home. Now, we do this often so I did not think anything of it when he first asked. When we got home, I went to the kitchen to open a bottle of wine to take outside, but Mitch said he would get it and to go ahead and go outside. When I walked outside, there was a beautiful vase full of roses and wine glasses already set on the table (thanks to his Mom). When he came outside to join me, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! And of course, I said YES! Afterwards, he invited a few of our close friends over to help us celebrate with a few drinks. It was perfect! Now, he would say this wasn't his plan as he was hoping that I would need to do something before going outside so he could beat me out there, but... of course I did not do that so he had to improvise some, but it was absolutely perfect :)
