How We Met

"Feels Very Serendipitous"

We met at the University of Saint Francis in Joliet, Illinois. For a whole semester we would pass by each other in the halls on the way to our American history class, without even knowing that one day it would greatly affect our future. When COVID would change all of our lives in February of 2020, our separate classes merged into one online class. We were put into a group for a class project, and worked on it together over the next few weeks during lockdown over zoom. We finally met in May after we took our class final together. Even though Mitch is much more knowledgeable of History, I got a better grade in the class overall, HAHA. He asked me to go get Ice cream as a conciliation prize, even though he helped me achieve it, isn't that sweet? As for the rest? -Well that's History

The Proposal

10/16/2023

It was an Overcast day in October and Mitch seemed a little too worried about rain. He had planned our annual Bengston's pumpkin patch date, as we had been going every year since 2020. There was so much to do there, and so many fun little traditions that we have created to accomplish. We spent our time rooting for the pigs during their races, petting the farm animals, and enjoying the hayride, before biting down on the best apple cider donuts you can possible find. The day was wrapping up when we started to look at pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. He had me check out a pumpkin away from him and when I turned around, he was down on one knee. He asked me the one question that I've always dreamed of hearing come from him. As much as I was lost in the moment he was too, and instead of starting with his "well prepared" speech that he states he had, he said to me before my tears fell, "will you marry me?" It was the easiest yes of my life.
