We are so excited to be getting married and we are especially thrilled to be celebrating with all of the people we love most. Please check this website periodically as the wedding day approaches to get updates on parking and any weather related changes!
We met at a party. Our eyes locked across the room. There were sparks. It was a fourth of July party after all. One of us was there to pursue a PhD in Political Economics and one of us was there to do social science research in the hope of one day being a PhD candidate. Neither of us has or is pursuing a PhD right now. But fortuitously, we both thought that was the correct path for us in summer, 2016. What a lucky coincidence for us. "Our day to day life is bombarded with fortuities or, to be more precise, with the accidental meetings of people and events we call coincidences. "Co-incidence" means that two events unexpectedly happen at the same time, they meet: Tomas appears in the hotel restaurant at the same time the radio is playing Beethoven. We do not even notice the great majority of such coincidences. If the seat Tomas occupied had been occupied instead by the local butcher, Tereza never would have noticed that the radio was playing Beethoven ... an individual transforms a fortuitous occurrence ... into a motif, which then assumes a permanent place in the composition of the individual's life ... Without realizing it, the individual composes his life according to the laws of beauty even in times of greatest distress." ~Milan Kundera
After two years of long-distance dating, and a little over a year living in a small Palo Alto in-law unit, we found ourselves, like the rest of you all, in the midst of a global pandemic. We drove to Colorado to be closer to family and when we realized that we would be here for the long-haul, we rented the cutest apartment in downtown Boulder for ourselves. On the day that we moved in, Mitch proposed in the living room, with the iconic Boulder flatirons watching over us. A celebratory dinner was followed by a surprise stay at the historic Hotel Boulderado where we called our family to tell them the great news!
