Cheers to love

Mitch and Emily both grew up in Pennsylvania towns. Mitch just outside of Pittsburgh (go Steelers), and Emily in the center of the state. They both attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) right after graduating high school. The two met their sophomore year of college and dated for a few months but parted ways and occasionally would run into each other on campus and exchange a quick wave. Fast forward to 2021, Mitch was living in Arlington, VA working on the construction of the new Amazon job site in Crystal City. Funny enough, Emily too, was living in Arlington and working in Crystal City. As luck would have it, Emily was headed out of her apartment complex to her car one evening to meet her friend, Caroline, for dinner when she looked up and saw someone wearing an IUP hoodie. She thought to herself, “Well I have to say hi”, and so she did. To her surprise it was someone she knew in college named Chris, who said that he was living with Mitch Connolly. It clicked in Emily’s head when she heard the familiar name and she laughed aloud at the coincidence of her and Mitch living in the same apartment building all these years later. About a month later (on Memorial Day weekend) the two met for drinks at a local Irish pub walking distance from their apartment building. That’s all it took for the two to become reconnected and instantly inseparable. They both went to Annapolis, MD the next day to explore the area and have lunch. To this day each Memorial Day weekend they plan a visit to Annapolis and eat as much Maryland blue crab as they can manage. Annapolis holds a very special place in their heart.
