FAQs

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP via our website "RSVP" tab by July 1st, 2024.

Question

Do I need a visa?

Answer

U.S. passports do not need a visa to travel to Jamaica (as long as your trip is <90 days;).

Question

What currency do I need to bring to Jamaica?

Answer

Most (if not all) places in Jamaica will take US dollars and credit cards. Vendors usually prefer it because the US dollar is stronger and will calculate the rate for you. Feel free to exchange to Jamaican dollars (JMD) if you prefer, but steer clear of the bad exchange rates in the airport and high exchange rates at restaurant vendors. I usually opt to charge in JMD and use my credit card's exchange rate if unsure. We recommend trying to carry some cash US or JMD for small shops that may not have card machines or for tips.

Question

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Answer

Out-of-town guests will need to arrange accommodations - We've got everything you need to know about reserving hotel room blocks on the Travel page.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel(s)?

Answer

Unfortunately we're not able to provide shuttles to/from the hotel and wedding venue. However, Samsara Cliff Hotel is walking distance to Pattoo Castle and hotels can help to coordinate other transportation needs. See "Travel" tab for more information!

Question

What is the easiest way to get to and from your wedding venue(s)?

Answer

If you're staying at Samsara - you're right next door and within walking distance! If you're staying at Rockhouse - we recommend coordinating a taxi with the hotel - the roads in negril can be narrow to walk on.

Question

Is there parking available near your wedding venue(s)?

Answer

No. Parking will likely be taken by vendors on the wedding day. Please walk or coordinate a round-trip taxi with your hotel!

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding reception, cocktail hour and reception will be outdoors. In case of rain, we will have a tent that covers the reception area and we will be able to party inside the castle.

Question

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

Island Formal - Color pallet is Neutral/Nature. For this time of year in Jamaica, may we suggest the following attire: Women - sundresses, lightweight separates and flats or wedge heels for the outdoor ceremony on the lawn. Men - light color dress shirts with lightweight slacks; jackets and ties optional.

Question

Are there any styles or colors you'd prefer me to wear?

Answer

We know it's not typical for an island wedding but please steer clear of bright floral prints. Neutral floral print works! We prefer if you would wear neutral & nature colors (tan, cream, nudes, chocolate, black, greens & blues) to our ocean cliff castle wedding!

Question

What is the weather like in the area?

Answer

In October, Negril has highs of about 86°F every day and the low temperature is around 78°F. Being right on the ocean cliffs offers some relief during the high temps of the day. Short and sharp storms make up a good amount of the rain, but you'll still have plenty of time to relax on the beach.

Question

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Answer

We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner with a choice of entree.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

yeh mon.

For all the days along the way
