We met in a small village in Alaska where we were working at a cannery. After the summer salmon season we both returned to the northwest and went to Mit's sisters wedding at Anderson Lodge and decided that we would make it official. We are excited to return to Anderson Lodge October 8th, 2022 for our marriage celebration and hope that you will be able to join us in the merriment and fun.
The excitement is building…. Time to provide a few more details about our wedding because it’s going to “take a village” to get this thing off the ground. This wedding may be a bit different than you are used to in that we are inviting you to join in the normally “behind the scenes” preparation of the big event. You will be a guest and if you choose to be an active participant in the preparation and success of this occasion. Our “Wedding Camp” will take place at Anderson Lodge. We have rented the entire Main Lodge. So, remember summer camp? If you don’t, this place will bring you back. It is setup like a Boy Scout camp with bunkhouses, a few private rooms, dining hall, shared bathrooms and sauna (bring your bathing suit), ping pong tables and pickleball and volleyball courts in an amazing, wooded setting. If you play pickleball, make sure you bring your pickleball gear. There will be time for a few games. INS We invite you to come early and stay the weekend at “Wedding Camp” or just come for the ceremony, it is entirely up to you. If you choose to stay overnight either Friday or Saturday (or both) at “Wedding Camp” here are a few considerations. Sign up for a bed on the website, with the knowledge that you may be sleeping in a bunkhouse next to your new campmates. Bring a sleeping bag and pillow, bed linens will be provided for those without them (please sign up for linens). There is a camping area for setting up tents and trailers (no power hookup). Let us know if you plan to camp. Just to clarify, these accommodations are reserved and offered at no charge to you. If this return to Boy Scout camp just does not appeal to you, there are a few other commercial accomodations nearby (insert website). But unfortunately, you will have to pay for that yourself. If you plan to come early and want to help, we will have lots to do. We hope you will join in on this fun (work). This is a homemade wedding, in the truest sense, no wedding planner, no florist, no caterer, no wedding cake (wait, what?), just us and our talented family and friends. Rest assured the food will be delicious and the flowers will be beautiful, but about the cake… Instead of wedding cake, we will have a cookie/dessert table. If you wish to share your family favorite dessert or a plate of your best-loved cookies, please do. We would be honored. We will provide a more detailed timeline of events upon your arrival. This is a labor of love for all of us and we hope you will come away with a shared sense of community from our gathering together as we start on our big new adventure.
