Chris and Missy both worked at Hutton, a construction, real estate and property management company. Chris worked with the construction division and Missy worked with the property management division. The owner of the company asked the property management team to meet with the construction team to review quotes/proposals/bids. Missy was new to the company and was introduced to the construction team (i.e. Chris). Missy, however, made the first move... with a little help of some liquid courage! She asked Chris if he wanted to get together for a drink and talk about asphalt and concrete! Chris said YES! Prior to Missy and Chris being formally introduced, Chris had been leaving the office one day and noticed a "beautiful woman in high heels" walking across the parking lot into his building. He was stunned by this beautiful woman and after several fortunate opportunities, he came to know Missy for her amazing personality and goodness as well as her beauty.

Chris and Missy had planned a short weekend to The Bungalows in Key Largo, Florida to get some rest and relaxation prior to the busy holidays! After some crafty planning by Chris a plan to smuggle a diamond ring down with him and a new suit for "a night out" at the resort was in full operation. Chris had also told Missy he was coordinating a photoshoot with the resort photographer that afternoon at sunset "just for fun". Turns out he had coordinated a photographer to capture their proposal, somewhat due to the insistence by Mattie who said he couldn't do this without a picture of the moment. At the right moment Chris gave a sign to an operative in his plan. The resort manger started playing the song "Our Love" from Gary Clark Jr. as Chris got on his knee (somewhat fumbling to get the ring out of his pocket). He looked up at Missy and she said "what are you doing"? After fighting back the emotions of the moment he presented her the ring on one knee and asked Missy if she would marry him. She was bewildered, shocked and semi crying all in a moment upon realizing what was happening. She said yes!!!
