How We Met

We actually both "swiped right" on Bumble! So, it was October 2017 and I remember sitting on the couch at my Aunt Kelly's and matching with this guy that was athletic, extremely handsome, and loved kids. For those that don't know the rules of bumble... I had to message him in 24 hours or it would have been a missed opportunity! Luckily, I messaged him asking "What's your plan for Halloween this year!?" (he had a photo with his niece and nephews in a Halloween costume). We talked back and forth for about a week, and finally I was like okay this is getting old i'm going to ask for his number. So I did, and Bob did not answer me for what I felt like 2 days and I was thought, "Cool there goes that." Then, he did finally get back to me and said, "I was just about to ask you the same thing," and we started to text. We texted a lot the next couple days and it seemed like we were hitting it off. Knowing Bob now, I'm surprised he didn't walk away when I said GO EAGLES (Bob is a Giants fan). I was waiting for him to ask me out on a date, but if I would have waited for him, who knows if we would be engaged right now!! I asked if he wanted to go on a date and he said, "I was just about to ask you the same thing."

Now for the brewery...

10.28.2017

On October 28th, 2017, we thought it would be a great idea to meet half way. I told him I have always wanted to go to Neshaminy Creek Brewery. He agreed (it was 40 minutes away from him and 5 minutes away from me). I was late, of course, and I drove past Bob but pretended that I didn't see him. We met in the parking lot and hugged (a little awkward) and went in the brewery. He ordered us both the Hefeweizen and we sat down. It was extremely loud in there because PSU was playing Ohio State. When it was over and the brewery cleared out a little bit, I complained and said I didn't like the lighting where we were sitting and I made us move. He didn't hesitate which I knew was a good sign. We talked and talked all night about everything. I even texted my friends at some point that night telling them how great it was going and that I was going to marry him one day! Anyway, the brewery closed a little earlier than we expected, but he walked me to my car and noticed I had a basketball in my backseat. We took it out and starting playing around with the basketball and laughing. I reached for the basketball and then he kissed me! We then sat in my car for probably 2 hours and talked some more, listened to our favorite music and we had the same taste, and then the rest was history!! We made time to meet once a weekend and I moved in with him in April 2018. Since then, we love going to breweries, traveling, and doing life together <3

Engagement <3

08.17.2019

I had surgery on August 9th. I was miserable that whole week, because anyone that knows me knows that I do not like to just sit around! Bob took care of me all week and I said I was going to need a beer soon. Bob took it upon himself to plan a brewery day for us in Pitman, NJ. I was getting ready and Bob was waiting in the car for me (which now looking back isn't typically the case), but I didn't notice anything. When we were on our way, I asked Bob if he wanted me to put in the GPS. He said I didn't need to because he knew where he was going. Bob is driving, and says, "Actually let's stop at Zed's (our favorite neighborhood brewery) and check out their new patio." I've been talking about wanting to see the patio all week, so again, thought nothing of it. We pull up and I told Bob it was closed (it was 11:45 am). He insisted that he knew it was open. I am taking my good old time, with one crutch, and Bob was waiting patiently, now I know probably nervously at the door. Now looking back, that was weird because he usually would help me out of the car. I walk in and Lori the owner mentions my crutch and how well I am walking. Bob suddenly stopped and grabbed my crutch - I resisted. I was so confused why he wanted my crutch. Finally, I gave it to him and he through it across the brewery. He grabbed my hands and I could see it in his face. Our song started playing (The Long Way by Brett Eldredge), and he asked if I would marry him. I said yes (at least I think I did) and we were both shaking. I then noticed a guy sitting at the bar was a professional photographer. We took pictures all over the brewery, and about 20 minutes later, our families and friends surprised us! It was the perfect day.
