The ceremony and cocktail hour will be at Roberts Regional Recreation Area in Oakland (10570 Skyline Blvd, Oakland, CA 94611). Cocktail hour starts at 1pm with the ceremony to follow! The reception will be at Jen's mom's house (2473 Ascot Way, Union City, CA 94587) after the ceremony and perhaps more cocktailing? The bartender will be ready at 4, the food will be hot by 5 and the churros are on at 7. See the schedule tab for all of this same info in a slightly different format.
Up at the ceremony site, please tell the parking attendant that you're with the brides so you don't have to pay the parking fee. At my mom's house... may the odds be ever in your favor (carpooling suggested, lyft recommended).
We made up cocktail casual. It means we want you to be comfortable and confident! We will not be judgey about your clothes if you won't be judgey about ours. If I weren't wearing the wedding costume, I'd wear the same dress I wear to all the weddings and some flat shoes. It's supposed to be 80 degrees in Union City, but it'll be cooler under the trees in Oakland.
At the park there will be beer and wine along with water and capri suns. The food is being catered by Honeycomb Catery, a local charcuterie catering company. Please come with an appetite! At the house there will be tacos and lechon to eat and beer, wine, whisky, vodka, agua frescas, water, and capri suns to drink. A beautiful cake and cookies are being made by Jen's cousin Leah and Jessica the churro lady will be there for a few hours to fry up some fresh churros! Bring your appetite!!
Once we get to the house it's just a party! There won't be any formal anything happening, so don't feel like you have to wait to dance or drink or anything. Sit anywhere you'd like, or stand if you'd rather! Please enjoy and don't forget to stop by the guest book table in the house where you can help us keep the memories of the day going all year with the guest book calendar. There will also be a wedding piñata (see we don't just make up dress code terms, we make up whole categories of things), where you can drop a note for us to crack open on our first anniversary next year. The redwood trees in the backyard are the backdrop for an ipad photobooth, too!
You're wrong. There's that one of us on the beach.
