The Vaishno Devi Temple is a prominent and widely revered Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Vaishno Devi, one of the major forms of the supreme goddess Adishakti. It is located in Katra, Reasi on the slopes of Trikuta Hills within the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir in India. It is about 2.5 hours away from Jammu. You can take a bus or a cab to travel to Vaishno Devi.
The Bahu complex consists of the magnificently manicured Bahu Fort, Bagh e Bahu Terrace Garden, India's only Underground Aquarium and Bawe Wali Mata Temple. First timers need to aware that a path to the Fort exists from the Garden. The aquarium is located adjacent to the Fort while the entrance to the temple is about 300 meters away from the aquarium. The Garden is located at the base of the Fort along the banks of Tawi River. It has a superbly manicured Garden which rises along the slope. A lake exists on the top layer. The Garden offers a panoramic view of Jammu City. During evenings the kaleidoscopic lighting enhances the beauty of the Garden. The Fort, Garden and Temple is a 3000 year old historic place which has withstood the test of time. The aquarium is a new addition. A road leading to the fort, aquarium and Temple by passing the gardens also exists. A cable car service connecting Bahu Complex to Mahamaya Temple and Peerkho Caves has been recently inaugurated.
