A historic Portland landmark! The Press Hotel used to be the Portland Press Herald's newsroom, and its restaurant was once a company cafeteria where Herald workers first met to organize their union. What could be more us than journalism and labor unions?! The hotel is a ~15 minute walk or five minute drive from our venue, and is where the newlyweds will shack up for the weekend! Call or email Hthomson@thepresshotel.com for assistance. Reservations at our link will be accepted until April 20, 2026.

Located a short shuttle ride from the airport, the Embassy Suites is about a 15 minute drive from our venue. Enjoy free breakfast, the indoor pool that was a fixture of Misha's childhood, and the nightly free two-drink reception that make this our favorite go-to Hilton when traveling! While we do have a discount code here, we do not have a set number of rooms blocked, so reserve early if this is your choice.

Flight
The Portland airport is one of the most peaceful in the country, and has direct flights from New York and DC. While a bit more expensive than flying from Boston, it's just 15 minutes by car from downtown Portland. It also has some of the shortest security lines you'll ever see. International travelers will likely have to connect through other airports.
Flight
Logan is about 90 miles south of Portland, and will usually be a bit cheaper to fly into than PWM. If you fly into Logan, you can either rent a car or take the Concord Coach Lines bus, which will pick you up right from your terminal, leaves about once an hour, and drop you off at the Portland Transportation Center—a 10 minute taxi or uber from downtown Portland. Either way, you're in for about an hour and forty-five minute drive up I-95, recreating the drive that Misha made to and from Tufts University 4-5 times a year.
Train
If you're coming from Boston and don't want to drive, there are two great options to get to Portland. One is the Amtrak Downeaster train, which leaves from North Station, right under the TD Garden. Ideally, Jayson Tatum will have miraculously recovered from his Achilles tear, and our wedding guests will be able to attend Game 1 of the NBA Finals at the Garden before walking downstairs and getting on the 2 hour train to Portland for our wedding. Like the bus, the train also drops you off at the Portland Transportation Center 10 minutes from Portland.
Train
If you are in Boston, the Concord Coach Lines bus service is both faster and cheaper than the Amtrak to Portland. There are two bus lines—one from Logan Airport and one from South Station. Either one will take a bit less than two hours, and drop you off at the Portland Transportation Center.
Travel Note
If you plan to drive, Portland is about five hours from New York City and two hours from Boston. DC friends, buckle up for a much longer drive. All of our hotels have the option to add on free or discounted parking.
Travel Note
To make life easier for you, we intentionally chose our venue and other event locations in the heart of Portland where they can be reached by walking or very short drives from most hotels. Because of this, we have not arranged formal transportation between any of our events. Shuttles can be arranged from the Hyatt to the ceremony for guests who need mobility assistance, and the Embassy Suites runs a free shuttle downtown. Ubers, Lyfts, and taxis are common in Portland, but less dense than in DC or NYC, so make sure to order with a little extra time to spare. For those of you driving locally, parking is very limited at our venue, so we suggest metered street parking, or any of the nearby garages/lots; the closest to the reception is Ocean Gateway Garage at 167 Fore St.
