We’re so excited to celebrate our special days with all of you! Our wedding will include multiple events as part of a traditional Pakistani wedding. Each occasion has its own unique vibe and cultural significance. Below is a guide to help you know what to wear for each event. Please check out the 'Outfit Inspiration' tab to get a better feel for each event! Mayoun: Wear something bright and festive! Yellow is traditional for this pre-wedding celebration. Nikkah: Modest and respectful attire is appreciated — midi or maxi dresses or suits in lighter shades work well. Please wear white or lighter colors if you are able to! Mehndi: This is the night of dancing and henna. Bright, bold, and festive attire is encouraged — lehengas, ghararas, or heavily embroidered outfits for women, and colorful kurtas or sherwanis for men. If wearing American attire, any colorful and festive midi or maxi dress will do! Men may wear suits if they would like. Shaadi: This is the main wedding night! Women typically wear heavily embroidered Pakistani outfits and men may wear suits. If wearing American attire, any formal gown will do! Valima: This is the final reception hosted by the groom's side. Attire is formal Pakistani for women and suits for men. If wearing American attire, any formal gown will do! People tend to wear more icy and pastel colors to the Valima event, but this is not required!
We are thrilled to share our culture with you and want you to feel comfortable and confident at every event. There’s no pressure to wear traditional South Asian clothing (unless you’d like to try — we can help you find some options!).
Due to limited space, we can only accommodate guests who are formally invited.
