Every love story begins with a moment — sometimes small, sometimes unexpected — that quietly changes everything. For Mirian and Josiah, that moment came during a summer camping trip in 2023. Somewhere between the warm air, laughter, and a conversation at a picnic table, something special began. Josiah knew that Mirian was Brazilian, and that simple observation opened the door to a conversation that flowed easily. As they talked, they quickly realized how much they had in common. After the camp trip, Mirian and Josiah went their seperate ways. As time passed, the memory of that meeting stayed in Mirian’s heart, and her quiet admiration for Josiah continued to grow. Then, in the fall of 2024, their paths crossed again. After a Young Adults meeting, Josiah noticed Mirian walking alone down the street and offered her a ride home. What seemed like a small gesture became the moment that brought them together again. Even though naturally shy, Josiah talked the whole drive, enjoying the chance to reconnect. What they did not know was that their mothers had already met at church and were planning to invite Mirian’s family over for dinner . A few weeks later, Josiah surprised Mirian with a romantic date. From that moment on, they could not stop talking. As they spent more time together, their connection grew deeper, and Josiah soon asked Mirian to be his girlfriend. Their love and respect for one another continued to grow with every passing day. Josiah often surprised Mirian with thoughtful and romantic dates, and together they created many beautiful memories — taking dance classes, visiting a winery, walking scenic trails, exploring a butterfly conservatory, strolling through flower markets, ice skating and reading together in the sunshine. Along the way, they realized they had found not only love, but also a best friend in each other. Then, in the fall of 2025, Josiah planned a moment that would begin their next chapter. Surrounded by the colors of autumn, he prepared a romantic picnic beside a waterfall. As they admired the beautiful view, Josiah proposed to Mirian.
