We met 5 years ago at a friend/family gathering where we both had no intention of dating but did catch each other’s eye. Fast forward both our families kept hanging out which led me(Mia) to reach out first to Rulber first and see if he was willing to hang out at a Friendsgiving that I was hosting. That entire night went great and we really hit it off. It felt like we knew each other for years. The night ended and one day later he asked me to be his girlfriend.

We started the day filled with a schedule of sights all throughout the coast of Oregon. We had some activities planned from tide-pooling, hiking and whale watching. Since all of those activities were time intensive we were rushing toward seeing the sunset but I(Mia) thought that it was because we were near a cliff that was popular and great to see the view. Little did I know that as I was looking in the distance of the horizon focused on the birds, Rulber was taking out the ring from his backpack and surprising me with a proposal.
