Our story started with a friendship through the Marine Corps. We were both stationed at the same unit. We began spending time with each other Christmas 2017. As time passed by we knew there was something special between us. We knew one day we wanted to get married.

We traveled to my family's house for Thanksgiving. We were all gathered in the dining room. He started with a speech stating that he had found his best friend and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was in shock, and it took me what felt like a lifetime to respond.
