Our Story

Our story begins long before we truly knew it. In 2009 Miranda and I first crossed paths in high school at Second Baptist. We had a few classes together and ran into each other here and there, but at the time, neither of us knew that our real story was waiting for us years down the road. Life took us in different directions after graduation. I went to Texas A&M and Miranda went to Baylor, but we eventually both found our careers leading us back to Houston. Fast forward to Easter weekend 2021, we unexpectedly ran into each other one evening at Kirby Ice House. What started as a casual encounter soon sparked the beginning of a beautiful friendship. We started spending time together with a group of friends and even joined a weekly Bible study group. Those Tuesday nights became something I looked forward to because it gave me the chance to know Miranda on a deeper level. It was during this time that I began to realize how much we had in common, and how naturally our faith and values aligned. What Miranda didn’t know at the time was that behind the scenes, I was already crafting a plan to ask her out. With White Linen Night in Houston around the corner, I suggested hosting a get-together at my house—and made sure to invite our mutual friends, hoping she would come. To my luck, she did. That evening we found ourselves deep in conversation—and something just clicked. Later that summer, as Labor Day approached, I planned a trip to Wimberly with friends and invited Miranda to join. That weekend felt like every other time we’d hung out, until one evening at Gruene Hall. Surrounded by friends and live music, I gathered the courage to ask her to dance and in that moment, I realized my feelings for her had grown into something much deeper than friendship. When we got back to Houston, I knew I wanted to pursue Miranda as more than just a friend—so I asked her out on a proper date. Naturally, that meant a trip to the bowling alley. To my surprise, Miranda revealed she had actually taken bowling as an elective in college—and let’s just say her competitive side came out quickly. We decided to make things interesting: if I won, I’d get to take her on a second date. Frame after frame, Miranda held the lead, and by the final round, I was down by three strikes. Let’s just say—I won the game, secured that second date, and the rest, as they say, is history. We took our time, building a relationship rooted in trust, laughter, and faith. With every conversation, every laugh, and every moment together, it became clear that what we had was something rare and extraordinary. In May of 2025, I got down on one knee at the Menil Museum and asked Miranda to marry me. What began as a friendship has become the greatest love of my life—and I couldn’t be more grateful that God brought Miranda back into my world at just the right time.
