Surprising to most, Stephen and Miranda have known each other since high school! They met at a college preparatory program. Though Miranda and Stephen knew of each other and hung out in the same circles, they were only friends. After four years of college and no other communication, they reconnected at the summer program’s reunion in 2015. After reconnecting, Stephen was persistent in wanting to get to know more about Miranda. She got hooked and now they're inseparable!

Stephen planned to propose to Miranda in downtown Cincinnati by the Banks. However, because of the pouring rain, he opted to settle on proposing during brunch at their favorite restaurant. Of course, based on previous conversations, he knew that Miranda's only request was to not be proposed to in front of a large group of people. He did it anyway, and now Miranda can't imagine it happening any other way.
