Miranda and Ryland met on December 8, 2019 at The University of Texas at Austin. The two said casual hellos at an ugly Christmas sweater mixer on campus. It wasn't until a Superbowl party on February 2, 2020 that the couple would get to know each other, and later that week, go on their first date to the 360 Bridge Overlook on February 6th. Miranda turned Ryland down several times when he tried to make the relationship official during the month of February. It wasn’t until the last day of February, the 29th, that Miranda asked Ryland to officially be her boyfriend. Ryland was thrilled to say yes! On March 12, 2020, Ryland met Miranda at Posse East (an ATX dive bar favorite) after an engineering test to celebrate. That next morning, everyone’s world changed when UT students received an email that all dorms were closing for the year due to COVID. Miranda moved back home with her parents to Corpus Christi, Texas. The couple spent the rest of the year going back and forth between hometowns and spending quality time with both families. In January of 2021, Miranda moved back to Austin and the two spent the next year and a half making memories like: Spending sunny days on Lady Bird Lake Playing scrabble and painting in Zilker Park & Eastwoods Park Posse East! Seeing George Strait at Austin City Limits music festival College ring days Augusta Vin Winery in Fredericksburg, Texas UT football games College Graduation days (Ryland in May of ‘22 & Miranda in December of ‘22) In June of 2022, Ryland moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he works as a mechanical engineer for Bell Flight. In December of the same year, Miranda joined him where she works as an elementary school social worker. On November 23, 2023, Ryland proposed to Miranda in Wimberley, Texas! We cannot wait to see what the future has in store, but for now, let’s get married!
