We both attended the University of Missouri—Mizzou—where we knew of each other, but never really ran in the same circles. We were cool in passing, but never more than familiar faces on a big campus. After graduation, we kept in touch the way most millennials do—through social media. A few likes, a couple “you look nice!” comments, and the occasional “LOL” on a meme. Just enough to stay on each other’s radar without doing too much. Then 2020 happened. The world shut down… but apparently, our DMs opened up. What started as casual conversation quickly turned into daily convos. Miranda was in Memphis, Rahmad was in St. Louis, but somehow—we were talking nonstop. Like, all day. Every day. About everything from the news to “what we eating today?” Before long, Rahmad started visiting Memphis, and we began spending real time together. There was an ease to it all. The chemistry was undeniable, and what started as a friendship quietly grew into something so much deeper—something that felt real, intentional, and effortless. In 2021, Miranda moved to Atlanta. By 2023, Rahmad made the move too—ready to continue building the life we had already started, even before we were in the same city. Then, on Rahmad’s 30th birthday, while celebrating in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he asked me to be his wife. And I said yes—without hesitation (ugly crying, lol) What began as a quiet connection became the love of a lifetime. It was never rushed, never forced—just two people finding each other in their own time. We’re so excited to take the next step, together.
