Sabrina Brown-Vakil

Maid of Honor

Miranda and Sabrina have been inseparable since the moment Miranda ran up to her in the college check-in line freshman year (yes, really). They were suite mates, then roommates, and now neighbors—just five doors apart! Sabrina is not only Miranda’s best friend and partner-in-everything (from hot pot date nights to midnight conversations), she also played matchmaker, introducing Miranda to Nicholas through her then-boyfriend, now husband Neelin. Both adoptees—Miranda from Korea and Sabrina from China—they took an unforgettable 2.5-week adventure through East Asia together to explore their roots (and eat everything). Whether they’re traveling the world or just hanging out down the street, Sabrina is the sister Miranda got to choose—and she’s beyond thrilled to have her by her side.

Philip Apostolico

Best Man

Always watching Nicholas' back from a young age, and the first to fight and stand up for him, Philip is Nicholas's brother and more than that, his best friend. The two have been on many adventures along the way, or of which being climbing the tallest mountain on the east side of the mississipi in the middle of December. Another being building a homeade raft, then taking it 100 miles down the Neuse river, the two have been there for every large moment together. Philip is currently living in Richmond with his Fiance Morgan working in the medical field.

Abigayle Apostolico

Bridesmaid

Abigayle is Nicholas’s younger sister, but she’s also become one of Miranda’s closest friends. Abigayle brings a certain light whever she goes—she has a way of motivating everyone around her, which makes sense since she’s a personal trainer. With her gym just a mile from their house, she’s a frequent lunchtime visitor. In fact, they even gave her a key… which she promptly lost the very next day. (Don’t worry—they gave her a replacement.) It’s in those day-to-day visits and spontaneous hangouts, Miranda has gotten to see just how close Abigayle and Nicholas are. Watching the two of them together is pure sibling comedy: same mannerisms, endless inside jokes, and a kind of effortless back-and-forth that only comes from a lifetime of growing up side by side. Some of Miranda’s favorite memories include karaoke nights at the Tiki Bar, spontaneous double dates with Abigayle and her fiancé Brandon, long road trips up North, and lazy days at Topsail Beach. Miranda is so grateful to have Abigayle as a sister—someone to share secrets with, laugh with, and celebrate life’s biggest milestones.

Neelin Brown-Vakil

Groomsman

A man who needs no introduction

Molly Rebenski

Bridesmaid

Molly and Miranda were high school best friends. Ironically, they initially didn’t like one another when they first met at tennis try outs. Fortunately, fate had other plans when they were paired together in Geometry class second semester of freshman year. Before long, they were practically inseparable, spending nearly every weekend at one another's house (Molly even bunkering down with Miranda’s family during a hurricane). When it came time for college, they were both excited to discover they would be right across the street from one another (Miranda at Meredith; Molly at NC State). Molly never left Miranda out of the fun —taking her to her first college party (and maybe the next 5 after that). Now, after 16 years of friendship, their adventures look a little different (double date nights with Chinese takeout) —but their friendship remains the same. Miranda is so thankful for a friendship that’s grown with her every step of the way.

Duncan McClure

Groomsman

Nicholas first met duncan when he started swimming at club swim and saw him in the lane next to him and thought "huh looks like those guys are having fun". He later got to better know Duncan and coaxed him on the roof of a hotel that night. The two still catch up and share their mutual scholarly interest in El Presedentes and Jojos Bizarre adventure. Duncan is currently in DC working on his law degree.

Coertney Scoggins

Bridesmaid

Miranda and Coertney first crossed paths when they briefly worked together at LabCorp. Though the overlap was short, their connection stuck. Since then, they’ve traveled together to Hawaii, Disney, and even Cancun for Coertney’s cousin’s wedding (where Miranda proclaimed herself as Coertney’s plus-one for life). Over the years, they’ve become each other’s go-to travel buddy—whether it’s beach getaways, mountain retreats, or a spontaneous trip to Maryland for yet another wedding (plus-one status still going strong). Miranda and Coertney are two peas in a pod—both social butterflies who love exploring new restaurants, filling their calendars with plans, and somehow always being on the same wavelength. Despite their busy schedules, they always find time to stay connected—even if it’s just catching up on life over a laundry-folding phone call. Their friendship is easy, effortless, and full of laughter, and Miranda couldn’t imagine starting this brand new adventure without Coertney by her side.

Lizzie Farnham

Groomsman

Lizzie and Nicholas were inseparable at the young age of three, you could even say they are friends til the end thats the end of the end, that's forever! Lizzie and Nicholas got to grow together, realizing that they have the smallest legs out of the bigger kids in the neighbor hood they had to work together to not lose every game of cops and robbers of captain midnight. Lizzie and Nicholas made sure to keep in contact well into high school, to college where they would play video games late into the night. With fond memories of walking to the pool in the summer, almost getting injured on a trampoline, or her father popping his head in the room asking "Whos winning?" it was a childhood I would never change. Lizzie now lives in Asheville NC with her husband Brian.

Amy Steigerwalt

Bridesmaid

Miranda met Amy through their boyfriends, Nick and Daniel who were besties in college where they started the infamous Wine Wednesday -a biweekly tradition in which someone prepares a homemade meal paired with a bottle of wine. Seeing as Miranda and Nick started dating around the same time as Daniel and Amy, the girlfriends were quickly looped into this tradition which is now reaching its 6 year anniversary. While Nick and Daniel still claim they’re the better friends, Miranda and Amy may have quietly passed them by. About 2 years into their friendship, Miranda convinced Amy to work with her at BioAgilytix. Now they get to see each other almost everyday, a fact they like to rub in Daniel and Nick’s face whenever possible. Whether they’re tackling projects at work, sipping wine on a Wednesday, or just keeping the boys in line, Miranda is endlessly grateful for Amy’s calm, thoughtful presence and unwavering support.

Clay Boneham

Groomsman

Long tan handsome, these are a few words used to describe the most dangerous man in a 20 dollar speedo. Clay and Nick spent most summer mornings at the local pool where they swam for summer league and when they got cold would dry out on the hot concrete. Fast forward to college, Clay and Nick, Salt and Pepper were inseparable. The two still catch up playing Super Smash Bros too late into a school night.

Vanessa Garcia

Bridesmaid

Miranda has known Vanessa since primary school, back when Vanessa took Tae Kwon Do lessons with Miranda’s brother, Nathan. While they weren’t especially close growing up, fate had other plans. When they realized they both were attending the same college, a true friendship began to blossom. Over late-night Taco Bell runs, shared club activities (SGA), and drives back home for the holiday’s, their bond grew closer. They ended up moving in together junior and senior year of college. (Fun fact: Vanessa was actually Miranda and Raya’s chemistry TA—an unbeatable advantage when homework got tough.) Their friendship continued well beyond graduation. They even joined forces professionally, both working at BioAgilytix. From childhood acquaintances to college roommates, colleagues, and lifelong friends, Vanessa has been a steady source of support, light, and unwavering friendship in Miranda’s life.

Sam Duncan

Groomsman

Sam – The Grill Master Nick first met Sam back in 7th grade at their mutual friend Harrison’s house. A few hangouts later, they found themselves at Leesville High School, where lunch breaks turned into the start of a solid friendship. Nick wasn’t much of a steak guy—until Sam cooked one for him shortly after college. That meal changed everything. Before long, Nick was a regular at Sam’s place, grilling steaks on a humble charcoal grill that somehow turned out better than anything from the Angus Barn. Their shared love of meat has only grown. These days, it’s all about smoking meats, trading tips, and perfecting recipes—so much so that they have a dedicated group chat just for meat prep. For Nick, Sam isn’t just the Grill Master—he’s a go-to friend for great food, great company, and a well-cooked brisket.

Nicki Mitchell

Bridesmaid

Nicki and Miranda met while working at LabCorp, where they quickly bonded over shared experiences (some might call it trauma bonding); and what started as workplace camaraderie soon turned into real friendship. They discovered a mutual love for Marvel and Disney, which eventually led to a magical trip to Disney with fellow bridesmaids Coertney and Sabrina. One of their favorite traditions is an annual beach getaway with friends—full of laughs, late nights, and… questionable cocktails. On one such trip, Nicki offered to make Miranda a drink. Harmless, right? Except Nicki doesn’t drink—and her “cocktail” turned out to be half a cup of Malibu and straight mango nectar. Thirty minutes later, Miranda was hugging the toilet. From lab bench to beach trips, Nicki has been a constant source of laughter, loyalty, and strong opinions about superhero movies.

Harrison Butler

Groomsman

Harrison and Nicholas met in a 7th grade history class with an equally charming and abusive teacher. The two quickly hit it off staying up late at night for sleepovers to find out what the best cheap soda is (the worst was special K red cream soda). Many late nights playing video games and entire Pizzas were eaten as the two got older. The two stay in touch being nerds playing Dungeons and Dragons every Monday night. Harrison lives in Clayton GA as a swim coach with his wife Rachel.

Raya Poonnak

Bridesmaid

Miranda met Raya freshman year of college, and they hit it off quickly. From roommates sophomore year to apartment mates senior year, their bond only grew stronger—thanks to late-night study sessions at SMB, emergency dinner runs to Beansprouts when BDH wasn’t cutting it, and road trips to visit Miranda’s family (Miranda’s grandma still asks when Raya’s coming back for Christmas). Since college, they’ve been there for each other through every milestone. When Raya got into dental school, they screamed so loud campus police showed up. Fellow foodie, fashion guru, and the hero who cracked the Raleigh public bus system (shoutout to their first trip to Crabtree Valley Mall), Raya brings laughter and adventure into every moment.

Nathan Ameen

Groomsman

Nathan – Calm, Collected, and Cool, the brother of the Bride and friend of the Groom. Though Nicholas and Nathan haven’t had many chances to spend time together, when they have, it’s been effortless. Bonding over shared interests in sports and cooking, the two connected quickly—proof that sometimes friendships fall into place just as easily as family ties. As the bride’s brother and now a friend to the groom I look forward to being able to call him a brother. A graduate of Campbell University with a degree in Athletic Training, Nathan has built an impressive career working with high-level athletes—from a season with the Carolina Hurricanes to time with the Olympic Taekwondo team. He now serves as an Athletic Trainer at Northern Kentucky University.

Daniel Liu

Groomsman

A bromance like no other, Daniel and Nick, like many people here, met through swimming. Soon after, the two started a Wine Wednesday to finally flex their cooking muscles and get into wine. After swim practice, they would talk about how they would find their next partner and give advice (blind leading the blind). Eventually, Daniel started dating Amy, and a few months later, Nick met Miranda. The two revived Wine Wednesdays and see each other at least once a month if not more to try to make new dishes. Daniel Lives in Durham with Amy.
