We met at work. We were both substance abuse counselors for the same company. After sometime there was a day during COVID when Matt asked me if I wanted tacos from a local place in Batavia and when I took that as an invite to go with him we went and got some decent tacos. A week later we went our our first date and the rest is history!

Matt and I took a trip to Lake George and brought my sisters Gabbi and Cassi along with us. When we were planning this trip he was constantly talking out visiting Fort Ticonderoga. Well on the second day of our trip we decided that was the best day to visit the fort due to the weather forecast. Before we went to the fort we decided to visit the casino near by and everyone was acting fine and normal. When we left the casino and started towards the fort everyone in the car got quiet and was acting strange. The behavior continued at the fort and when we got the garden things seemed to get more abnormal. While we were walking around the garden Matt began to lead me to a section of flowers and then told me to look at something behind me. I refused and when he asked the second time I looked behind me and grabbed his shirt in the process. I felt him move so I turned around and he was on one knee asking me to marry him. I said yes and my sisters did their best to be photographers for us and made the occasion even more special than it already was.
