We met online… but not like that. One day, I was watching TV when I got a LinkedIn notification. I saw a message from a young lady wanting to connect. I opened it and thought, “Oh, she’s cute.” Naturally, I accepted and messaged her. After some back-and-forth, I felt an overwhelming urge to ask her out. I thought, “Maybe the Lord’s nudging me, so I should listen.” Then I hesitated, thinking, “It’s LinkedIn, isn’t that weird to ask someone out here? Ehh whatever, the worst she’ll do is block me. Shoot your shot I guess.” I kept it vague to give myself an out if she reacted poorly: “I’d be curious to pick your brain for sales strategies, how about we grab a coffee sometime soon?” She left me hanging for two days, but eventually replied that coffee sounded great! Lucky for me! We swapped numbers and texted a lot over the next week until we met, where we talked for over two hours. From there, we were both hooked, and the best year of my life flew by until I proposed to her!
