We LOVE the Museum of Natural Sciences! It is located centrally in downtown Raleigh and is next to the North Carolina Museum of History. When we lived downtown we would love walking to the museum, and the best attractions are the dinosaurs and whales! This museum is approximately a 25-minute drive from the Brier Creek Country Club. Admission is free. This museum is an affiliate of the Smithsonian.
This museum has both indoor and outdoor exhibits, which is great for any weather! Admission is free! This museum is approximately a 15-minute drive from the Brier Creek Country Club, and is also the same distance from downtown Raleigh (but in the other direction).
A beautiful arboretum located on NC State University's campus. Admission is free.
Kylo loves this park! There are a few miles of both paved and natural surface walking trails with Lake Johnson at the center. You can sail, kayak, etc.
This is our FAVORITE sandwich place! Walking distance from our old apartment in downtown, we would get dinner here so often that the employees started remembering our orders as soon as they saw us walk up to the counter. Since we've moved out of downtown, we still make it a point to go back to get the caprese sandwich with prosciutto!
This is our favorite sushi restaurant in the area! We love to come here for birthdays, to host people visiting from out of town, etc. M Sushi is within a cute mixed-use development that includes other restaurants, bars, a movie theater, etc.
