God Gave Me You 🤍

The couple met in Crestview, FL, on November 14, 2020—two people, unaware of what they had just found. Their friendship grew over the first six months, and it became increasingly clear that they had a deeper connection than they expected. Dave, born in Chicago, IL, was brought to the area through the United States Air Force. He was a few years away from retiring after an honorable career serving his country. Dave wanted to retire in Florida, so he applied and was accepted for a one-year special duty assignment in Korea. Out of all the bases in Florida, Hurlburt Field is where the Air Force needed him and where he served his final duty assignment. His final years at Hurlburt Field didn't go exactly as Dave originally planned, but he loved the area and decided to remain in Florida, moving to Crestview. On September 1st, 2021, Dave retired after 22 years in the United States Air Force. He is blessed with four beautiful daughters: Alexis, Hailey, Julieanna, and Daylin from previous marriages. He also has two grandchildren, Beau Robson and Lydia Johnson, born this year. Miranda, born in Meridian, MS, has been in Florida since 2009, moving with her company to Pensacola from Atlanta, GA. After working one year in the Pensacola location, she decided to change career paths and become an educator. In 2010, her only daughter, Ava, was born and was the driving force of her career change. In 2012, she began working for the Okaloosa County School District. Miranda started her teaching career at Crestview High School, where she taught math for 9 years, and is currently teaching at Davidson Middle School. She has been fortunate to work where her daughter attends school and has even taught her daughter in class. Before 2020, Miranda had considered leaving the area, but her love for her job and her local friends kept her in Crestview. Neither of these two love birds are from the area, but God put them in the same place at the same time on November 14th. On February 13th, 2025, just over four years together, Dave asked Miranda to marry him in front of the Davidson Middle School staff and students at the Cupid Shuffle Dance. Friends and family were also there to witness the surprise engagement. Before planning his surprise, Dave asked Miranda's parents and daughter for their blessing. He coordinated the entire surprise with the school administration, her family, and their friends. How he was able to keep this a secret is still shocking to Miranda. God has kept these two together through good times and bad for four and a half years. Their growing faith and trust in God's plan for their lives is what the couple attributes their deep and lasting love to. They are blessed to work in education together at Davidson Middle School, attend and serve together at Lifepoint Church, and raise Ava in a loving, beautiful home. Their blended family spans from Florida to Delaware to Indiana, with their parents in Iowa, Georgia, and California. Individually, these two could have ended up anywhere in the United States, but they met, fell in love, and call Crestview, Florida, their home.
