We all carry a responsibility to protect our family and friends during these unprecedented times. We’ve had to make a very tough decision regarding our wedding. Due to the ongoing pandemic, and the release of the Mayor’s reopening plan for Nashville, we have no choice but to dramatically reduce our guest list to adhere to the mandated numbers of social gathering. With great regret, we have to cancel the invitation to our wedding on June 6, 2020. We hope you understand this is a drastic measure that we never expected to have to make. We love every single person we invited to our wedding, and this is heartbreaking for us and our families. Please hold us in your hearts on June 6 as we take our vows to each other. This is not how we envisioned entering married life, but we are doing so with an even greater appreciation of life and love. We will be hosting a Facebook Live stream of our ceremony for those who desire to be a part.
We met at Camp Lake Benson in Bon Aqua, TN. I was on the praise team and he was the guitar player. I had never met him before (though he argues I said hello to him a couple of months prior). We bonded on the first day by going back for seconds. I should have known then!! LOL. Later on I asked him to play our Eagles opening song and his guitar skills mesmerized me. We continued to get to know each other throughout the week without an agenda (at least on my end. Hehe). On the last day of camp he messaged me on facebook with the following message, “Well I would text you to be more convenient but I don't have your number lol. Are you going out to eat? I think we are all going to Colton's steak house if you want to join. Just letting you know👍🏼” I gave him my number and the more I got to know him, the more I came to love him. Now I couldn’t imagine having anyone else to share this life with. And the rest is history 😉
My experience is very similar. The year was 2017. Little did I know that I had met the love of my life. She walked up to a table I was working at and as she said goodbye to her friends, she said, "Bye Justin!". I responded "Goodbye" and asked my friends how she knew my name. Sadly she doesn't remember this happening, but it did. The second time we met was at Camp Lake Benson of the same year. I was playing guitar, she was singing, and we bonded over food (this is how my story is similar). I was too nervous to outright ask for her number, so at the end of camp I did what every cool guy does and messaged her on Facebook. Luckily she responded and our love story officially started. The next thing I remember is getting down on one knee for approximately one second, asking her to marry me. And if you're reading this, you can probably guess what she said.
