Like every other Jewish Millennial from Long Island, we met on an app. Coffee Meets Bagel connected us for our first date in the spring of 2015, May 29th to be exact – a date that will become very important in our love story. Evan asked Sam to dinner in Long Beach, followed by a romantic boardwalk stroll. It was there that they realized their many “missed connections” (IYKYK). Sam and Evan were often at the same place at the same time unknowingly throughout their entire lives! They were both members of the same beach club (Sunny A!). Evan grew up in Oceanside, but moved to Roslyn just before the Mintz’s moved to town. Evan often visited his older brother Jason at college – University of Hartford, where Samantha attended. They realized the three of them were even at the same theme parties. The connections turned to sparks as Evan and Samantha visited each other at their respective parents houses in Oceanside and Glen Cove, until they moved in together on December 29th (told you this date would be important) 2018. The next 18 months went well. They survived quarantine and Evan knew it was the real deal – on August 29th (see what happened there?) Evan surprised Samantha with a toy car, which happened to have an engagement ring and asked her to be his forever.
