We met over a competitive game of Code Names on a Saturday night in March 2024. Lauren was supposed to be on a ski trip in Mammoth that ended up getting cancelled last minute due to a snow storm, and was invited to hang out with Spencer's friends for dinner and a game night. She was told "Spencer who likes sports" would be there and her friend thought they'd be a good match. Lauren hesitantly agreed to go to this game night not thinking much of this casual set up. After all, how often do set ups like this actually work out, right?! Meanwhile, Spencer was already at this game night and was sent a few pictures of Lauren to which he responded, "I'm intrigued." After a night of drinking wine (Spencer spilled his), Code Names (the girls won!), and cuddles from Hank, you could say there was definitely a spark. What started as an Instagram DM, quickly turned into a first date 6 days later. Some would say it's the longest first date ever because it pretty much never ended. We spent the next few months hiking in Joshua Tree, exploring the mountains and rodeos in Montana, traveling between Sacramento (Spencer's hometown) and Chicago (Lauren's hometown), spending time at wineries, USC Football games, concerts, and everything in between. We officially moved in together after 6 months, although Lauren basically moved in after date #3, and the rest is pretty much history! We are so excited to celebrate this next step in our relationship with everyone we love. Thank you for being a part of our story!
