Dear Family and Friends, We hope that this message finds you safe and healthy. In light of the uncertainty arising from the ongoing global pandemic and to ensure the well-being of our guests, we have decided to cancel our wedding for the time being. Instead of postponing once again, we decided it is best to wait until we have further certainty around the situation to decide what we will do next. We are, of course, disappointed that we will not be celebrating with you all on April 4, 2021, as we so excitedly anticipated. However, we did get married officially by Zoom on June 5, 2020, and we feel blessed and grateful to be staring a life together. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding and support during this difficult time. Please stay safe and healthy and know that you are in our thoughts.
Due to current circumstances and an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our loved ones, we are postponing our wedding (again) to April 4, 2021. We wish you and your loved ones all the best during this time. Please check our website for details and updates. Can't wait to celebrate with you all!
When Minna and Charles met, they talked about all the trips they wanted to take together. One place they were both interested in was Greece, so they flew there in May 2019. They spent the first half of the trip exploring the ancient ruins in Athens. The Acropolis was spectacular to be sure, but it paled in comparison to what was about to happen next. In Santorini, Minna and Charles enjoyed views of the ocean, multi-hued sunsets and delicious seafood. One sunny day, they went on a wine tour and explored Imerovigli, a nearby village. When they returned to their villa, Minna was greeted by roses, candlelight, and dinner overlooking the ocean. Charles got down on one knee and proposed. She said “Yes!” Thank you to all of our family and friends for your love and support. See you in April!
With a swipe of the finger, Minna and Charles’ story began. Minna and Charles met on the dating app, Hinge. They began exchanging messages and after a few days, Minna asked Charles to talk on the phone (which apparently is unheard of in this day and age). They hit it off and a couple hours flew by, so they set a date to meet. Minna and Charles met for their first date at Mokutanya, a Japanese izakaya restaurant. Since they had to take off their shoes, Minna noticed Charles was wearing penguin socks and she said she liked them. Unbeknownst to her, they were his lucky socks and he wore them when he needed some extra luck. That first date was followed by many more, including one fateful Peking duck dinner, a trip to Carmel, the symphony, and the rest is history! Lucky socks, lucky us!
