We're Married!

The year 2020 took the world on a roller coaster ride and undoubtedly disrupted our original wedding plans in August, but we still tied the knot in a private, sweet, and short ceremony in October! In attendance were family - Pastor Paul and Elizabeth and Ming's parents. Nancy's parents have low covid risk tolerance and chose not to attend, but were with us in spirit. :)

How We Met

Gold Star - Sept. 3, 2015

We met at work. Nancy needed information from Ming's cubemate. Nancy walked over to the cube, saw Ming, and thought he was cute - in fact, too cute to talk to, so she ignored him the entire time. Eventually, the cubemate had to use the restroom and told Nancy to talk to Ming. During our first conversation, Ming shared his passion about cooking and Nancy continuously encouraged him to quit his job so he could pursue cooking. After all, it was only Ming's third day at work here. Thereafter, we chatted each time we met, and when we chatted, the rest of the world fell away. On one occasion after a very long day, Nancy imagined to herself it would be really cute if someone left a note on her desk with star on it. And at the end of that day, when Nancy walked back to her cube, there was a note on her desk with a star on it! On the way home that night, Nancy texted all her friends that Ming could not possibly be real. After one week of dating, Ming told a few of his buddies that he knew Nancy was the one. (oh, really?) The end. <3

The Proposal

Via dell'Amore, Pienza, Tuscany, Italy - Sept. 2, 2019

Question: Ming, how would you describe the proposal? Ming Answered: I tried proposing over the course of 3 days when we were in Tuscany, Italy. The first day, Nancy wanted to spend more time in a different city than the one I had planned. The second day, Nancy drank too much wine during our all-day cooking class and had a terrible wine headache for the rest of the day; she also caught a cold and we had to pick up medicine from a local pharmacy. The third and final day, we finally made it to Pienza! I picked a spot overlooking the Tuscan hills, set up the video camera, and took a couple of nervous paces before I got on one knee and proposed. She said yes before I even asked the question! Nancy Answered: I said yes to the ring. :P Question: Nancy, how would you describe the proposal? Nancy Answered: Ming picked the one day where I felt terrible, wore my airplane clothes, didn't put on my face, or wear sunglasses. I guess that's how I know he loves me! :D

Just For Fun!

Answers You Never Wanted, Questions You Never Asked

Question: Where have you guys traveled together? Favorite place so far? Ming Answered: We've traveled together to France, Iceland, Japan, and Italy! Japan is our favorite, followed by Italy. Question: What are your travel styles? Nancy Answered: I like to explore and photograph Ming. When I'm hungry, I'll grab a bite from anywhere. I've been traumatized by non-hotel bathrooms in the past (many, many times), so I'm picky with bathroom stops when we're out and about. Ming Answered: I like to explore as far as I can, talk to everybody who looks friendly, and go into shops that look even remotely interesting. I like to pick different places to eat! Question: Favorite late night meal? Ming Answered: Taco Bell. It's my reward for eating the household-mandated vegetables at dinner. Nancy Answered: I just eat what I want from Ming's meal. :D Question: Who gets more free stuff? Nancy Answered: Ming gets so much free stuff all the time. All the time!!!!! Question: Drink preferences? Nancy Answered: Coffee (black), water, wine. In that order. Ming Answered: Anything I can make with my hands. I like seltzer water, so I make seltzer water! I like beer, so I brew my own beer! Question: Who is more high maintenance? Nancy Answered: Without a doubt, Ming. I struggle to find pants, button up shirts correctly, and wear matching socks. I also can't cook. How have I made it this far? XD Question: Who is more emotionally high maintenance though? Ming Answered: Nancy when she's hangry. It's scary.
