FAQs

The Wedding Website of Mykah La Parne and Maximo Minervini
Question

Should we stay in Hood River?

Answer

Yes! We would love for this weekend to be a getaway for both local loved ones and those traveling to Oregon for the event. Please see the travel and things to do tabs to get more information on planning your weekend in Hood River! If staying the weekend does not make sense for you, we completely understand and are looking forward to seeing you Saturday evening for the ceremony and reception!

Question

Where will the ceremony take place?

Answer

The ceremony will take place on the Point Lawn behind the historic Columbia Gorge Hotel, overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.

Question

When should I arrive to the ceremony venue?

Answer

Guests can make their way to the Point Lawn at the Columbia Gorge Hotel as early as 4:00 for our 4:30 ceremony. Please grab a glass of champagne and enjoy the view of the Columbia Gorge as you find your seat!

Question

Outdoor ceremony in Oregon in October?

Answer

Indeed! We are optimistic about weather conditions (please include weather in your prayers) but it's a good idea to bring a warm coat as the Gorge is historically windy and can be chilly even during the peak of Summer. We can move the ceremony indoors if the rain decides to join the party, and will make that call Saturday morning if needed. The reception will be cozy and warm indoors, so please plan to remove your layers and reveal your lovely outfit!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We have chosen to include a few of our closest young family members in our special day, and ask that you kindly find accommodations for your children if they were not listed in your invite. Please reach out to Max and Mykah if you have questions before your formal invite arrives or in general!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Fabulous! We would love it if our guests used this day as a chance to wear their most fun and fabulous evening attire. Nothing is too much! Fur coat, vest, sparkly gown, bring your best player. The official dress code is formal. If you're looking for more inspiration, we implore you to imagine you are dining with the Rat Pack in the 1960's, laughing, dancing, and being merry. Most importantly, we want our guests to enjoy themselves, so please take these recommendations and adapt them to what makes you feel your best! Ladies, there are technically no shoe limitations as the outdoor ceremony has stepping stones, and the majority of the celebration will take place indoors. However, the ceremony will require a few steps in grass to your seat, and the stepping stones and a couple of small old-world bridges are not necessarily flat or slip-proof. If you're planning for heels, a block heel might be best. If you're concerned about wearing the same color as the bridal party, they will be wearing a dark espresso brown. Please wear any color that you feel your best in, except anything close to white. ;)

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Most certainly.

Question

Can I park at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is ample parking at the Columbia Gorge Hotel!

Question

Can I depend on Uber or Lyft while staying in Hood River?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. Ride shares are extremely unreliable in Hood River, so we've arranged private transportation to and from the venue on 10/24 for guests staying off-site at the Best Western Plus and the Holiday Inn Express. If you're staying from out of town and are wondering how you'll get to and from activities, we recommend renting a car at PDX. If that is not feasible for you, please call Max or Mykah directly, and we can help you make sense of the solution.

Question

Is there an after party?

Answer

Of course! There is no time constraint on the reception celebrations since we have booked the entire venue. We are looking forward to dancing, laughing, and celebrating the night away with our favorite people. Late night bites are in order!

Question

May I take photos on my phone during the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that you are fully present in the moment with us during our ceremony. Once the wedding party begins to walk, we prefer that phones be tucked away so that everyone can see clearly and simply enjoy themselves, and so that the professional photos don't have rogue cell phones in the shots. We promise the photographers will capture every moment and we will share all photos with you as soon as they are available. There will be a photo sharing link for all of the beautiful moments you capture during the reception and otherwise, and we can't wait to see them all!

Question

May I bring my dog?

Answer

No, this is a pet-free event.
