We first met at Engineered Sports Therapy where I work as a Physical Therapist and Mindy as a Physical Therapist Assistant. We continued to work together for 3 whole weeks when she texted her friends on June 9, 2019 that she had a little crush on her new co-worker. She was very persistent, continuing to snap, message and talk to me at work. I initially thought that we were going to be really good friends, because we both had the rule of never dating a co-worker. Little did I know she was trying to break that rule. I was clueless and it took me a little more time ( about 3 months) to come to my senses and finally ask her out. The thing that did me in is when we went to the first tailgate for the Huskies and Eastern game and she wore RED, I like red. Well... and it was the first time that I saw her let her guard down and have a good time with good people. I asked her on our first date after she picked me up from the airport. Our first date we went to Emory's and I almost did not make it on time because I was so nervous and missed the turn to her house. We then went and played mini-golf where Mindy beat me (one of the only times). We aren't that competitive I promise!!! Ok maybe we are oops. Through many more dates and lots of games we fell in love and told each other for the first time in Vancouver, Canada on a weekend get-away. Finally, we realized that maybe dating a co-worker wasn't such a bad thing. We started talking about spending the rest of our lives together but Mindy didn't want to buy a house until we were engaged... I won that battle and we bought the house of our dreams in March of 2021. Little did she know I had planned for a ring in our house budget. After talking with her parents, Corey, Mac, and everyone else on June 19th, 2021 I got down on one knee and proposed at the top of Heather Lake, followed by a surprise party. We are so happy we have each other and we can't wait to celebrate our love with everyone else in August!!
