The First Day

2/15/2014

It all started when I (Mindy) went on my annual Valentine’s Day date with my mom. We went to JoJo’s Martini Lounge for some after-dinner drinks, where we met our bartender, Aaron. The rest of the night was a bunch of flirtation between me and Aaron (sorry mom!). What really sealed the deal was when I learned that Aaron was a Milwaukee Brewers Racing Sausage. **swoon** At the end of the night, I did something totally bold and out of character for me: I left my phone number on my receipt. A couple of hours later, Aaron texted me!

The Yes Day

7/18/2018

The easiest choice I (Aaron) have made in our relationship is deciding to marry this woman (Mindy). Possibly the 2nd easiest choice was deciding where to propose. Early in our relationship, it became clear to me that Mindy’s favorite place in the entire world is the Terrace at UW-Madison, watching a summer sunset with a pitcher of beer and a scoop of Babcock ice cream. The challenge was how to get her there without spoiling the surprise. In December 2017, I (Aaron, still) suggested we make sure we get back to the Terrace at some point in the coming summer since we hadn't that year. Mindy was all-in on the idea and made sure to remind me of the intention every month or so while I was happy to act like I had forgotten and there was no greater significance to my initial suggestion. Finally, the day arrived. We drove to Madison, stopped at a brewery, got coffee at Colectivo, walked around Capital Square to look at the Bucky Statues, and eventually made our way to the Terrace. We found a table and got a quick visit from one of Mindy's many, many amazing college roommates Molly. As the day turned to dusk, we moved to a better spot to view the sunset over Lake Mendota. After some time spent people watching (that you should definitely ask us about), the sunset arrived and the question was asked. Thank god, she said yes.

The Best Day

12/31/2020

We can’t wait to celebrate our love and the start of the rest of our lives together (and ring in the new year!) with all of our friends and family at one of our favorite places - Raised Grain Brewing! Ceremony will be immediately followed by cocktail-style reception with pizza, pie, and ice cream. Free beer! Game night - board games, Mario Kart, bags, giant Jenga, etc. - in lieu of dancing. Quintessential Mindy & Aaron.
