The Process of Getting a Cab Outside LaGuardia Airport Terminal Hailing a taxi outside the terminal is an option for individuals who want a quick and convenient mode of transportation from LaGuardia Airport. Here is a 5-step guide on how to hail a cab outside of the terminal: 1)After exiting the baggage claim area or arrivals hall, proceed to the ground transportation center to access NYC taxi cabs. 2) Stand in the line designated for taxis, wait for your turn and follow the instructions of the dispatcher. 3) State your destination of your hotel in Herald Square to the driver and agree on the fare before getting into the vehicle. Do not be hesitant to ask about additional fees, such as tolls and surcharges, which may apply. 4) Once you reach your destination, pay the fare and any applicable additional costs. 5) Tipping the driver is customary. Exit the taxi and retrieve any personal belongings you may have left inside the vehicle. It is important to note that passengers can only ride with licensed taxi drivers. Additionally, anyone looking to hail a taxi should keep an eye out for green “taxi” signage atop the vehicles, and be wary of unlicensed cabs. The estimated taxicab fare for this trip is around $60 including all the fees, tolls and tip.

LGA is much easier to navigate than Newark or JFK. There are plenty of yellow cabs available; you can also follow the signs to the Ride Share parking lot if you’d prefer to take an Uber or Lyft. Please let Mindy or Evan know which flight you are taking, and we will try to match you up for easy carpooling into the city!
