In the fall of 2010, a brand new Buffalo Wild Wings was opening in White Plains. Amanda applied for a job there because she was going to be student teaching and needed a night/weekend gig and Julian applied for a job there because he was a broke college freshman! An unknowing friendship blossomed between the two which neither would have guessed would lead to their current reality. Over the years, Amanda and Julian went on "friend dates" to the movies and out to eat and exchanged Christmas gifts that reflected each of their interests. All the while, they were still just friends. Julian eventually left White Plains to attend Delaware State University and their communication was sparse, mostly tagging each other on social media or Julian asking Amanda to use her ELA teacher expertise to edit his college papers. Little did they know what was to come! In the winter of 2012, Julian was home for a weekend and Amanda invited him over for a lasagne dinner party. She had recently moved into her first apartment that spring and wanted to catch up with her old work pal! They enjoyed catching up over a home cooked meal! Amanda dropped him off later that evening and something was different between the two of them and neither of them could put their finger on it. Soon enough, they were texting quite frequently. Amanda and Julian became a staple in one another's daily interactions! Julian came home for a weekend in early March 2013 and Amanda invited him over to hang with some friends after the WP St. Patrick's Day Parade. The evening was fun; they played games and enjoyed each other's company. They stole a moment away from the rest of the group to be alone and in that moment, they took a leap of faith, possibly fueled by vodka, and each leaned in for a kiss... Cut to March 31, 2013. As Amanda was getting ready to leave Del State after visiting Julian over Easter weekend, they made the decision to "be a thing" and it was the best decision either of them have made!
