Options include the Airport MRT (fast and convenient), taxis, or buses. The MRT takes about 35–40 minutes to the city center. Taipei has an excellent one card system. You'll want to get an EasyCard (悠遊卡) which is a smartcard for public transport and small purchases across the city especially for Taipei MRT, buses, and convenience stores (7-11, Family Mart, Hi-Life). Cards can be purchased at any MRT station or 7-11 convenience stores.
We recommend staying in central Taipei neighborhoods like Xinyi, Zhongshan, or Da’an for easy access to venues, food, and transport.
