DeShawn and Charletta both born and raised in Detroit, MI, met each other at the age of 14 during their freshman year attending Renaissance High School. Over the course of time their bond became deeper than just schoolmates, eventually forming the foundation of the beautiful union that is blossoming before our eyes! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.

Over the years DeShawn and Charletta grew closer than close, confirming that over the horizon was a beautiful life waiting for them to share together. Attending Michigan State together, then moving to Southern California, showed them that together they are an unstoppable force that can overcome any unforeseen change that comes their way. On December 7, 2019, DeShawn and Charletta were back visiting Los Angeles for a weekend of fun and relaxation, the air was full of love and rain, which was romantic because “♬It Never Rains in Southern California♬” so the vibes were very much there. During a planned hike to a beautiful waterfall they reminisce about their time together, foreshadowing an unexpected change for Charletta. Once they reached their destination and seeing how powerful the rain made the waterfall, DeShawn decided the time was right. He asks an unsuspecting couple would they be willing to take a video for him and they agreed. Once stationed in front of the roaring waterfall DeShawn gets on one knee and asks Charletta to join in becoming one. Charletta, whose mind was already made up, fought through the tears to give him the most emotionally vibrant YES that she had in her, once again showing that she was ready to take on yet another journey, one that would last forever.
