Mrs. Tuyet-Lan (Lani) Do was born in Saigon, Vietnam where she lived until 1975. She then migrated to United States with her two parents and eight other siblings. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at the University of Houston. Mr. Michael Do was born in Saigon, Vietnam until 1975 and then migrated to the United States with his two parents and five other siblings. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from East Texas State University which is now Texas A&M at Commerce. They met at a mutual friends wedding in Houston and married after 3 years of dating and are now on their 39th year of marriage. They now reside in Houston, TX enjoying retirement and activities such as gardening and golf
Rodrigo & Beatriz Cardona
Parents of the Groom
Mrs. Cardona (Beatriz) was born in Bello, Colombia where she still lives. She gave birth to Sebastian and became a dedicated mother to him. She worked as a manager for a grocery store in Colombia until 2017 and now spends her time with Valentina (Sebastian’s sister). They will soon start a cooking class and plan make their own cookies! Mr. Cardona (Rodrigo) was born in Cisneros, Colombia—this is the place known as the birthplace of the railroad in Colombia. He worked laying out the railroad tracks at early age. Rodrigo is passionate for biking and the outdoors. They met in Cisneros when Beatriz was visiting. Rodrigo had already seen Beatriz because he worked in the train station near Beatriz’s home. They dated for 18 months until marriage. They are now on their 34th year of marriage.

Dr. Lesli J. Wood
Officiant
Lesli J. Wood, or "Dr. Wood" as Mimi and Seb call her, met Seb when he contacted her in 2012 to do a MS in geology at UT Austin. After several emails, they finally met and Seb began his graduate career with her. When Lesli made the move to Colorado School of Mines, Sebastian, decided to pursue a PhD with her and also encouraged Mimi to apply for a MS in geology. Then, Dr. Wood became Mimi and Seb graduate advisor and witnessed the growth of their relationship. Lesli somehow knew Mimi and Seb were meant to be together when she decided to put them in the same cubicle office telling everyone; "they share a bed, I am sure they can share a desk". It's never a dull moment when the Cardonas visit the Woods!
Adrienne Do
Maid of Honor
Mimi's sister and best friend. She is a PA for an urgent-care in Midland, TX with her fiance Jordan Anderson. Adrienne and Mimi have been close since childhood, and had the fortunate experience of being roommates for 2 years in San Antonio while Mimi went back to school for geology. This was such a bonding experience and they love to laugh about it. Adrienne witnessed the first beginning days of the Cardona relationship which is so special and meaningful.
Marco Atehortura
Best Man
Marco (left) has been Sebastian’s friend from first year in elementary school and is part of a tripartite friendship with Lucas (center). Together, they went through several phases in life, from playing soccer, dancing tango and salsa in a dancing group, skateboarding, rugby and more. Marco is now a lawyer in Colombia and even lived with Mimi and Sebastian in Colorado for a season while they were still going to Colorado School of Mines. He has witnessed the relationship through ups and downs, and in fact, he witnessed the time when Sebastian asked Mimi to be his girlfriend when they were in a famous rock bar in Medellin, ‘El Blue’. The bar is a special place for all of them and every time they visit Colombia is a common stop.
Stephanie Tran

Stephanie is a long-time friend of Mimi's from highschool. She is a nurse practitioner and has a ~2 year old daughter. Mimi and Sebastian are actually Nova's god parents! She also has a pug named Wilson. Fun fact: Stephanie visited Colombia with Mimi when they were just "friends" and was there in Colombia when Sebastian asked Mimi to be his official girlfriend (2013)!
Santiago Cardona
Groomsman
Santi is Sebastian’s younger brother. He also got to live in Colorado with Sebastian and Mimi for a season and has witnessed the Cardona relationship throughout the years. Mimi and Seb baby-sit dogs while living in Colorado and Santi was a great help while staying with them. When he was in Colorado, Mimi and Sebastian could not keep up with Santi’s pace neither hiking nor biking. During that time, Seb and Sant did a road-trip to Marfa, so Seb could show him where he proposed to Mimi. They also decided to run 50 kilometer around the town of Fort Davis just because.
Linda Nguyen
Bridesmaid
Linda Nguyen is Mimi's long-time friend since highschool through mutual friends. She is the owner of Roostar (restaurant in Houston) with her husband Ronnie. Through the years, they have grown as individuals and have been such great support systems for one another. Fun fact: Mimi is Linda's Matron of Honor a few weeks after #Cardona2021!
Miguel Cobos
Groomsman
Miguel met Seb in Austin when he was studying at the University of Texas at Austin. Along with the Braeburn Crew, Miguel and Seb loved going dancing to different place in East 6th Street and music festivals around the city. Miguel witnessed Seb and Mimi relationship early on when Mimi visted Seb in Austin for the weekend. It was one of those times that Mimi got upset at Seb for how Miguel was dancing with someone. Seb was guilty by association. After his graduation, Miguel moved to New York but realized Austin is his real home. He now runs a restaurant in the city and he always has an available couch for Seb when he visits Austin.
Diana Pham

Diana is Mimi's long-time friend from highschool. Diana is married to Damian Katz and they are expecting a baby in February of 2022 <3 Mimi and Diana connected by showing up to Hollister as retail associates wearing the exact same outfit (pink spaghetti strap top with a cream sweater with matching pink font ha!). They then realized they had a lot of overlapped friends and the friendship bloomed ever since!
Wylie Walker

Wylie met Sebastian in Colorado School of Mines and he is also a geologist. They both studied similar topics, and got to do field work together. Wylie and his wife, Hillary, have a pup named Lucy that is Maple’s best friend. While Sebastian was living in Colorado, they exchanged pet-sitting duties with Maple and Lucy.
Ann Pham

Ann Pham is the longtime partner of Alex Nguyen, and is Diana's younger sister! She and Mimi went to highschool together, although started hanging out more in college. Ann and Mimi have 2 days between their birthdays and have been doing joint birthday celebrations for over 10 years. Ann has always been a great listener (pseudo-therapist!) and confidant for Mimi. Lately, they have been "bros" together at the gym with Stephanie and have been enjoying weekly bro dinners <3
Rafik Messaoui

Rafik (to the right of Sebastian) also met Sebastian while living in Austin. He’s always ready to lend a hand, like in this picture with the ‘Braeburn Crew’ that was helping Sebas moving to his first apartment when he started his masters in Austin. He actually asked the question to Seb; “what do you have in these boxes? Rocks?” Which indeed it was true. Rafik, being originally from France, talk about rugby with Seb. After Austin, he then moved with her partner, Becca, to Seattle, and they are now living in France. Before going to France, Rafik and Becca visited Colombia and spent a couple of days with Seb’s parents.
Christina Tran

Christina Tran is Mimi's long time friend since college (Azuma Sushi days!). She is engaged to Cabby Caballero and together, they are a Houston Real Estate powerhouse (@Chrisandcab) and have a pitty named Thor. Christina and Mimi have matured and grown through the years and have always been each other's cheerleaders - from the Houston club scene in the early years to geeking over design inspo together, their interests and hobbies overlap. Fun fact! Mimi is Christina's bridesmaid in April 2022 :)
Eric Peterson
Groomsman
Eric met Sebastian while he was doing his PhD in geology at the University of Texas at Austin and Sebastian was doing his masters. They were roommates together and always made Mimi and Kilo welcome in the house when they were visiting from San Antonio—at the time Mimi was living out there. In their free time, Eric and Seb loved going biking and/or running around Austin and then grabbing beers together. Eric is now a researcher in Alaska.
Ashley Mai (not attending)

Ashley is Mimi's cousin through her mom's side. Ashley and Mimi share lots of fun childhood memories and used to work at Sambuca together as cocktail waitresses in college. Ashley now lives in New Zealand working in the tech industry with her boyfriend Blake. She is unable to attend due to covid risks during travel since New Zealand is strict with letting travelers back into the country.
Alejandro Moncada
Groomsman
Alejandro is from Mexico City and met Seb while both were in San Antonio College taking Calculus 3. They started a study group together and pulled several all-nighters studying for tests. Alejandro continued on and earned a degree in mechanical engineering in Denton while Seb went on to pursue geology in San Antonio. Since the beginning of their friendship, they enjoy pushing their physical limits and have completed half ironman and full ironman races, and other impromptus activities such as running to Pikes Peak the day after running the Manitaou Incline (2000’ gain in less than 1 mile). He now lives in Austin with his wife, Fabiana, and their two dogs.
