Anyone who lives in Schuylkill County knows that Ringtown is the kind of place where everybody knows everyone, so it's hard to say when the bride and groom officially met. We've practically known of one another since we were 10 years old, but it wasn't until our Junior and Senior Year of high school that we became close friends. Our friendship quickly grew and following High School Graduation in 2011, we found ourselves making the 4 hour trip every weekend between Drexel University in Philly and Lock Haven University in Central PA just to spend time together. It was obvious at this point that this was going to be more than a friendship, but I think we were both skeptical of being at new schools and venturing in 2 different directions. Fast forward to New Years Day 2012, we finally decided to give this whole “dating” thing a try. Needless to say, we’re both pretty happy about this decision. Our undergraduate years seemed to fly by and in May 2015 we moved into our first apartment in Philadelphia for Derek to start PT school at the University of the Sciences and Mimi continue her education at Drexel. Our beloved dogs, Nittany and Jax, also came into the picture. Lets be honest, our lives have revolved around them ever since! On May 26, 2018, 3 days after Derek officially became a Doctor of Physical Therapy, he finally got down on 1 knee and proposed in front of so many of our family and friends. We have managed to created so many memories not only with each other, but with all of the amazing people in our lives over the last 8 years. We are looking forward to the rest of our adventures together and cannot wait to celebrate with everyone in September 2019!
