After a couple of years of swiping left and right, we finally made the ultimate swipe of life on OkCupid in mid-October 2018. Being Filipino was probably our biggest thing in common as superficial as it sounds. We shared a lot of stories about our culture, our family, food we like to eat, along with Fleetwood Mac and Biggie. By the holidays of that year, we were officially a couple. And by the following summer, we had decided to shack up because splitting rent sounded very appealing! We would go on to do several hikes, trips to the mountains and Vegas, moving into a 2-bd condo, raising an adorable evil dog named Rocky, and now starting our journey to parenthood.

There is still a great debate on who started the conversation of marriage. Mimay thinks it was her idea because, unbeknownst to Nato, she started visualizing her destination Utah wedding months before he proposed. Nato, however, pulled the trigger unexpectedly so he gets points for that! On November 30, 2021, Nato proposed at home with a bottle of Diet 7Up he picked up for Mimay and a shiny diamond ring picked out by his sister. Being the awkward human that she is, Mimay screamed no and ran to the bathroom. She eventually came out and wore the ring as her way of saying "yes" to the question he never actually popped. It was a perfect moment we will never forget! We had no idea we were about to get pregnant two weeks later. Oh, the power of love.
