Things To Do

For those of you coming from out-of-town who want to make the most of this trip, we've curated a list of local favorites to make sure your vacation to Indiana is as nice as it could possibly be. If you'd like recommendations for things not listed, don't hesitate to ask! We know this city well and are excited to share it with you for a weekend.

Calvin Fletcher's Coffee Company

647 Virginia Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46203
, (317) 423-9697

This is Milo and Joe's go-to coffee joint, and the spot with the nicest staff in town. The coffee shop also supports local nonprofit organizations each month and provides gallery space for local artists! Stop by to get a good cuppa and a tasty pastry (Joe LOVES the lemon bars).

Three Carrots Fountain Square

920 Virginia Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46203
, (463) 221-3669

If you're looking for vegan options in the area, Three Carrots is the best. Not only is this Milo's favorite restaurant in the city, but the soon-to-be-newlyweds have shared over 50 date nights here! (The pesto melt comes highly recommended, by the way.)

Newfields

4000 North Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46208
, (317) 923-1331

Indianapolis' premier art museum, Newfields, is a must-see. With breathtaking historical and contemporary works, this art museum is an excellent spot for inspiration and introspection. There is also a rotating immersive experience in the top floor that you should make sure to check out. Fun fact, Milo interned at the museum in college during the first summer the couple shared. How cute!

Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library

543 Indiana Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202
, (317) 423-0391

Kurt Vonnegut is Joe's favorite author, and one Indianapolis loves very dearly. Although Vonnegut travelled and lived in a variety of places, he always found Indianapolis to be his home. The city and the Hoosiers who inhabit it find themselves in his novels time and time again. This museum not only pays tribute to the life of Vonnegut but also supports community journalism and literacy programs!

Garfield Park Conservatory

2505 Conservatory Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46203
, (317) 327-7183

This is your perfect spot for gorgeous photos while in town! The couple's wedding party will be getting pictures here the morning of the wedding, so you know we're serious. Right outside the conservatory are the Sunken Garden, gorgeous and idyllic walkways among flowers and fountains for a light stroll and plenty of Instagram-able moments.

Crown Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery

700 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208
, (317) 925-3800

OKAY, WE KNOW THIS MIGHT BE A LITTLE MORBID, BUT this cemetary is home to the largest amount of US Vice Presidents in the country! That's not the part that matters, though. From the top of the cemetery, right as the grave of local poet James Whitcomb Riley, you get one of the best views of the city! Make sure to leave some coins on his memorial, which are collected and donated to Riley Children's Hospital.

A Place To Float

425 West South Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225

Milo works here on weekends and regularly "floats" as a physical therapy tool. If you want to try sensory deprivation floating, you totally should! Go ahead and use Milo's code (milofloats) for a discount on your appointment.
