Braidwood town is a small town, 50 minutes south of Springfield. The town has lots of vintage and antique stores, pubs and cafes. We recommend stopping into Provisions for a savory crepe.
If you are driving from or to Canberra, we recommend taking the longer road and stopping in Bungendore. The Bungendore leather shop has everything you could want including belts, bags, hats, shoes and cane toad wallets.
If you are driving from Canberra, Collector is a great town to stop in for a quick coffee. The Some Cafe has great food and is worth the quick stop.
The Argyle Inn is a fantastic pub just north of Goulburn (about a 30 minute drive). They serve elevated pub food including pappardelle with wild venison ragu, duck terrine, homemade pickles and a Sunday roast. The Argyle Inn is open for dinner from 5:30pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, for lunch from 11:30am on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and for breakfast from 7:30am on Saturdays and Sundays. Call ahead to book a table.
If you are driving back to Melbourne, Long track pantry is a great place to stop for a coffee and toasted sandwich. It is located 1.5 hours from Springfield, so a great first stop.
