Maddie's POV: It was the first day of medical school at USUHS, both of us fresh from completing our officer training and settling into Bethesda, MD. Outside, I was playing cornhole with friends from OTS when I needed a partner. That's when Tyler strolled out, curious about the commotion, and jumped right into our game. The moment he caught my eye, I was taken aback, though I kept my composure—or so I thought. Later, my friends Pallavi and Siri would let me know that it was written all over my face (it was quite literally love at first sight). Testing his skill, I asked Tyler what level he played at, boasting my SEC school tailgating experience. With a nonchalant "low-medium," he proceeded to effortlessly sink all four bags. We smoked the competition, and from that moment on, our connection only continued to grow. Discovering we were neighbors in North Bethesda, we began studying together and carpooling. Daily ping pong matches showcased our competitive spirits, each test result becoming an excuse for celebratory drinks—courtesy of the "winner." One night, he claims I "made eyes at him all night," though I'm still skeptical. Nevertheless, Tyler eventually made the first move, and since then, we've been inseparable. Our journey from that first game of cornhole to sharing every challenge and triumph has been nothing short of extraordinary, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
