There's no shortage of places to stay in Chicago! Below are a handful of hotels close to the venue (10-15 min drive, bus or train ride, depending on traffic, of course) we'd recommend for your stay. We'd also recommend looking at Airbnbs for larger groups! There's also no shortage of ways to get around Chicago! Please find wedding day travel recommendations below the hotel listings.

Airbnbs

If you're staying in an Airbnb/Vrbo/or any rental property, we'd recommend renting in the below neighborhoods! There are often a lot of rentals that tout affordability, but end up being far off the beaten path. RENTAL NEIGHBORHOODS: - Wicker Park - Bucktown - Logan Square - Noble Square - Ukrainian Village/East Village - West Town - West Loop/Fulton Market

Travel Note

Getting to Salvage One

*TRAFFIC* No matter how you're getting there, we'd HIGHLY recommend baking in at least an extra 10-15 minutes to account for traffic, especially around rush hour on a Friday. Google Maps typically has accurate travel time estimates with traffic accounted for. We'd recommend checking there ~30 mins before you plan to leave in case traffic picks up! RIDESHARE If you're going by car, Uber, Lyft, and Curb ride share services are widely accessible! There's also good old fashioned cabs - they're less common outside downtown, but easy enough to find in busy neighborhoods on the outskirts, and all accept cash and credit card payments. PERSONAL CAR If you choose to drive your own car, there is free street parking all along Hubbard St. near Salvage One. PUBLIC TRANSIT If you're staying in Wicker Park, the Damen (#50) and Ashland (#9) buses heading south are both great options! You can take Ashland toward 95th and hop off at Grand (10 min. walk to S1), or take Damen toward 35th and hop off at Hubbard (5 min. walk to S1). If you're staying in River North, the westbound #65 Grand bus toward Nordic drops you steps away from Salvage One on Wolcott & Grand! Additionally, if you're staying in the Loop (portion of downtown just south of the Chicago River's east/west branch) you can hop the CTA Green Line toward Harlem/Lake and get off at the Damen stop, just a 12 min walk from the venue!
