The Blackstone District is a revitalized historic neighborhood in midtown and just 1 mile from Kountze Memorial Church. If you walk Farnam Street from 36th to 42nd you'll find a plethora of bars, restaurants, and shopping. Stop in at the Cottonwood Hotel's Orleans Room and order the Reuben sandwich which was created at the hotel in the 1920s. For dessert we recommend Coneflower Creamery; voted the best ice cream in America by Yelp.
This historic neighborhood features cobblestone roads, horse-drawn carriages, and lots of shopping and places to eat. Our favorites: La Buvette (feels like you're in Paris), Blue Sushi (get the Crunchy Blue), Mr. Toad (late night drinks under twinkle lights), Wicked Rabbit (figure out how to get into this speakeasy), Candy Shop (all your childhood favorites).
This public park has recently been totally transformed. With new playgrounds, hammocks, and firepits, its a great place to stroll or run off some energy before the ceremony. Oh, and don't forget to zip down the original slides, even if you're an adult! This was a highlight of going downtown as a kid.
Located less than a mile from Kountze Memorial Church, Midtown Crossing is a great spot to grab a drink, eat local food, or enjoy Turner Park. We recommend trying the nationally recognized vegan restaurant, Modern Love.
This is one of the best zoos in the COUNTRY! If you think you've been to a good zoo, you haven't been to the Henry Doorly Zoo! There is a full indoor desert, rainforest, and aquarium. Oh, and let's not forget about the Skyfari, a ski lift that glides you over the animals!
Vala’s is an Omaha classic - and probably the best pumpkin patch you’ll ever go to. There is pumpkin and apple picking, pigs races, train rides, not-so-scary haunted houses, and so much more. They call it Dirt Disney. Pro tip: the kettle corn is the literal best.
